MONTREUX

The river, the Baye de Montreux, cuts its way through the rock. Stairs have been built to negotiate the narrow passages, and bridges allow you to cross the river. A 50-minute walk along the gorge, starting in Montreux and passing under the motorway bridge. The path is in the middle of the forest, with cascades of vegetation and moss accompanying the waterfalls. The path has been secured and closed from 2021 to 2023 to prevent rockfalls. Before the gorges, the source of the Baye de Montreux is at the Col de la Cape au Moine, then it meanders for around ten kilometres before flowing through Montreux and into Lake Geneva.

The Chauderon Gorges are accessible by public transport using the GoldenPass, getting off at the Les Planches stop.
