COL DES MOSSES
This lake, at an altitude of 1850 metres, bears witness to the last ice age, the Würm period, some 15,000 years ago. The lake has become an excursion destination, with a 1-hour 20-minute walk and 420 metres of ascent. Its emerald waters invite you to relax and contemplate. It's an ideal place for a picnic or a rest after a hike. Lac Lioson can also be a stop-off point for excursions to the surrounding peaks, particularly Pic Chaussy. The view rewards the efforts made on the way up. This lake environment is located in a basin carved out by the Hongrin glacier during the Würm ice age. It's a great place to fish for rainbow trout and Arctic char. Ice diving is available in winter. Children will love the restaurant and its mini-zoo, where dwarf goats, rabbits, chickens and piglets will delight young and old alike.
Lac Lioson is accessible by public transport with the PostBus, getting off at the Poste stop.
